All China Federation of Supply and Marketing Cooperatives convened the 5th Plenary Session of the 4th Board Meeting on 26 May, 2008. Mr. LI Chengyu was elected President of the Board. President LI felt it a great honor and a grand mission to take on such a position. After the elections, he reiterated his commitment to leading supply and marketing cooperatives all across China to achieve greater development and a more prosperous future. President LI was previously Governor of Henan Province with years of experience in agricultural and rural development before being elected to the current position.

Li Chengyu, male, Hui nationality, is a native of Haiyuan, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. He was born in 1946, and received a junior college education at the Central Party School. Li started to work in 1971. He once held leading government positions in his native Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, where he served as commissioner of Yinnan prefecture until 1988. Subsequently he served as vice-chairman of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region People's Government until 1993.
Li Chengyu served as Vice Governor of the Henan Province from 1993 to 2003 and as Governor of Henan province from January 2003 to March 2008. He was elected on 26 May, 2008 as President of Board, All China Federation of Supply and Marketing Cooperatives.
